Ambrosia Maple in Motion
This project features 1,254 square feet of ambrosia maple flooring installed in mixed 3”, 4”, and 5” widths. The floor was installed using a glue-assist method, then sanded and finished with Berger-Seidle Natural Sealer and three coats of GreenStar in satin for a durable, low-sheen finish.
A custom herringbone field was milled on site, highlighting the species’ distinctive mineral streaking and natural variation. Each piece was carefully prepared and installed to maintain the precision of the pattern while balancing color and grain throughout the field.
The surrounding straight-lay flooring, sourced from a specialty mill, complements the herringbone while allowing the character of the wood to remain the focal point. Custom stair work features grain-wrapped risers and a waterfall tread, continuing the visual flow of the material. Nine flush-mount floor vents were integrated into the installation to maintain clean lines across the floor.
