Red Oak RestorationThis project centered on restoring and extending existing red oak flooring throughout the home. Approximately 1,248 square feet of 2¼- and 3¼-inch red oak was sanded and refinished in a coffee brown stain, sealed beneath four coats of Bona Traffic HD in matte for a durable, low-sheen finish.
Several areas of the original floor were repaired and carefully laced in to maintain continuity across the space, while new oak flooring was installed in the upstairs areas to match the existing material. The stair system was rebuilt with new oak treads, primed risers, custom handrail, balusters, and newel posts, with the landing installed, sanded, and finished to integrate seamlessly with the surrounding floor.
Together, the refinished flooring and rebuilt stair assembly bring warmth and structure back to the home while preserving the character of the original red oak.
